How To Root The ZTE Z730

This guide will show you how to root the popular ZTE Z730 phone from ZTE.

What is needed to root the ZTE Z730?

In order to root the ZTE Z730 you will need the following.

  • The ZTE Z730 you want to root in your hand.
  • A PC.

Step 1 – Download the USB drivers for the ZTE Z730 for your PC

In order for your PC to recognise the ZTE Z730 as part of the rooting process you first must download and install the USB drivers on to your PC.

You can download the USB drivers for the ZTE Z730 from here.

Once you have downloaded them run the main program file to make sure the drivers are installed.

Step 2 – Enable USB debugging on the ZTE Z730

In order for your PC to recognise the ZTE Z730 when you plug it in to perform rooting you must first enable USB debugging on the phone itself. This is done by doing the following.

System Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging

Step 3 – Download the root package

Download the root package to your PC from here. Save the file to an easy to find location on your PC and extract it to its own folder.

Step 4 – Root the ZTE Z730

Connect the device to your PC and make sure you have enabled USB debugging if you have not done so already. Tap OK on the device when the USB Debugging dialog box appears.

Inside the folder on your PC you extracted from step 3 run the ADA-ASAC-Root.exe batch file and wait for the device to be rooted. The device will reboot a few times and then it will end up in recovery mode.

A message may appear on the device saying that root access is possibly lost, if that happens tap Yes, fix Root.

After that simply reboot the device normally and it should be rooted.
