Before performing any of these steps make sure you back up your Android device completely.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>What do you need to root the Zenfone Z6?<\/h2>\n<p>In order to root the Zenfone Z6 you will need the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Zenfone Z6 you wish to root in your hand<\/li>\n<li>Access to a PC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Step 1 \u2013 Download and install ADB and the USB drivers on to your PC<\/h2>\n<p>For your PC to recognise the device once connected to your PC you must first download and install ADB on to your PC and also download the USB drivers for your phone and install them on to your PC.<\/p>\n<p>We show you how to do that <a href=\"\/?p=9493\">here<\/a>. And you can get the Zenfone USB drivers from <a href=\"http:\/\/goo.gl\/WDKALI\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 2 \u2013 Download the root package for the Zenfone Z6<\/h2>\n<p>You will need to download a root package to root the device. You can get it from <a href=\"http:\/\/goo.gl\/WDKALI\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Save the download to an easy to find location on your PC such as your desktop and extract it to its own folder.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 3 \u2013 Enable USB debugging on the Zenfone Z6<\/h2>\n<p>You must enable USB debugging on the Zenfone Z6 so that the phone can be recognised by ADB once connected to your PC.<\/p>\n<p>To do that, follow these steps.<\/p>\n<p>Go to <strong>Settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Click <strong>About<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Open <strong>Software information<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Tap <strong>Build number<\/strong> continuously until a pop-up hint informs you that you\u2019ve entered the developer mode.<\/p>\n<p>Return to <strong>Settings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Find and open <strong>Developer Options<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Select <strong>USB debugging<\/strong> and click <strong>OK<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Step 4 \u2013 Root the Zenfone Z6<\/h2>\n<p>Now that you have installed ADB on your PC, installed the Zenfone USB drivers and enabled USB debugging on the device itself it is now time to root the device.<\/p>\n<p>To do this, with USB debugging enabled on the device, connect the device to your PC.<\/p>\n<p>Once it is recognised and the USB drivers have been installed for the device it should be recognised by the PC.<\/p>\n<p>Now open the folder you made in step 2 which contains the root package and run the <strong>checkbeforeaction.bat <\/strong>file.<\/p>\n<p>Follow the instructions that appear on-screen to make sure the device is correctly recognised by your PC.<\/p>\n<p>Once done run the <strong>Root-Zenfone6-en.bat<\/strong> file to root the device.
