{"id":12170,"date":"2015-10-27T12:08:25","date_gmt":"2015-10-27T05:08:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.flexispy.com\/?p=12170"},"modified":"2016-11-14T15:59:13","modified_gmt":"2016-11-14T08:59:13","slug":"how-to-root-the-lg-nexus-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.flexispy.com\/de\/how-to-root-the-lg-nexus-4\/","title":{"rendered":"How To Root The LG Nexus 4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[hoops name=&#8220;Rooting Guides Are No Longer Maintained&#8220;]<\/p>\n<p>This guide will show you how to root the popular LG Nexus 4 phone from LG.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Disclaimer: FlexiSPY is not responsible for rooting the Android device in any way.\u00a0 Before performing any of these steps make sure you back up your Android device completely.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rooting is done entirely by you at your own risk.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>What is needed to root the LG Nexus 4?<\/h2>\n<p>In order to root the LG Nexus 4you will need the following.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The LG Nexus 4 you want to root in your hand.<\/li>\n<li>A PC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Step 1 \u2013 Set up the Android SDK environment on your PC<\/h2>\n<p>Before you can run the rooting tools on your PC to root the Eye you must first set up the Android development environment correctly.<\/p>\n<p>In order to use Fastboot to root the LG Nexus 4 you must have the Android SDK downloaded and installed on to your computer.<\/p>\n<p>You can download the SDK from <a href=\"http:\/\/developer.android.com\/sdk\/index.html#download\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 2 \u2013 Download the LG Nexus 4 custom recovery<\/h2>\n<p>In order to root the phone you simply download a root file to your PC which you can get <a href=\"http:\/\/techerrata.com\/browse\/twrp2\/mako\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 Once downloaded save it and extract it to an easy to access location on your PC such as the desktop.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 3 \u2013 Download SuperSU<\/h2>\n<p>Connect the LG Nexus 4 to your computer and download the SuperSU APK file from <a href=\"http:\/\/download.chainfire.eu\/344\/SuperSU\/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.50.zip\">here<\/a> and save it to your computer desktop.\u00a0 Once saved on your computer, copy it to the connected device.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 4 \u2013 Boot the LG Nexus 4 into Fastboot mode<\/h2>\n<p>In order to run the root file you must boot the LG Nexus 4 in to bootloader mode which is done as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Make sure the LG Nexus 4 is turned off completely.<\/li>\n<li>Hold down the volume down key, volume up key and the power button until the phone starts up and you see green text and then connect it to your PC.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Step 5 \u2013 Flash the custom recovery to the LG Nexus 4<\/h2>\n<p>With the phone in Fastboot mode and it being connected to the PC do the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On your PC navigate to where you installed the Android SDK to from step 1 and go into the <strong>Platform-Tools<\/strong> folder where you will see <strong>exe<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Hold down the shift key and right-click in the window and choose <strong>Open Command Window Here<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In the command window that appears type <strong>fastboot flash recovery\u00a0<\/strong><em>openrecovery-twrp-2.6.0.0-mako.img <\/em>and press Enter to flash the custom recovery file from step 2 to the device. When that has completed disconnect the device from your computer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Step 6 \u2013 Root the LG Nexus 4<\/h2>\n<p>You now need to put the LG Nexus 4 in custom recovery mode.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Make sure the LG Nexus 4 is turned off completely.<\/li>\n<li>Hold down the <strong>volume down key, volume up key and the power button<\/strong> until the phone starts up and you see start highlighted.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Recovery<\/strong> from the list using the volume down key and press the power button to confirm.<\/li>\n<li>When the device boots in to recovery mode choose <strong>Install<\/strong> and browse to the SuperSU zip file you copied to the device in step 3.<\/li>\n<li>Once that has been flashed successfully restart the device.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You should now see SuperSU is installed as a new application which means that the LG Nexus 4 is now rooted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[hoops name=&#8220;Rooting Guides Are No Longer Maintained&#8220;] This guide will show you how to root the popular LG Nexus 4 phone from LG.
