{"id":10408,"date":"2015-01-26T10:52:07","date_gmt":"2015-01-26T03:52:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.flexispy.com\/?p=10408"},"modified":"2016-11-14T16:12:44","modified_gmt":"2016-11-14T09:12:44","slug":"root-htc-desire-816","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.flexispy.com\/es\/root-htc-desire-816\/","title":{"rendered":"How To Root The HTC Desire 816"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[hoops name=&#8221;Rooting Guides Are No Longer Maintained&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">This guide will show you how to root the HTC Desire 816 Android phone.<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>Disclaimer<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0FlexiSPY is not responsible for rooting the Android device in any way.\u00a0 Before performing any of these steps make sure you back up your Android device completely.\u00a0 These steps are correct at the time of writing but rooting is done at your own risk at your own responsibility and FlexiSPY is not responsible in any way.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>What is needed to root the HTC Desire 816?<\/h2>\n<p>In order to root the HTC Desire 816 you will need the following.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The HTC Desire 816 you wish to root<\/li>\n<li>A PC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Step 1 \u2013 Install a custom recovery<\/h2>\n<p>Before you can root the device it must be running a custom recovery.\u00a0 To do this you must first enable USB debugging on the device.\u00a0 We discuss how to do that here.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have enabled USB Debugging we are ready to install the custom CWM recovery.<\/p>\n<p>The first thing you have to do is download the file needed to install the custom recovery to your PC which you can get from<a href=\"http:\/\/forum.xda-developers.com\/devdb\/project\/dl\/?id=5098\"> here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Save the zip file to an easy to find location on your computer such as your desktop and extract it to its own folder.<\/p>\n<p>You now need to unlock the bootloader of the HTC Desire 816 and we explain how to do that <a href=\"\/?p=9556\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you have not yet installed the USB drivers on your PC for the HTC Desire 816 and configured the Android SDK on your PC then please read the article <a href=\"\/?p=9493\">here<\/a> as this is needed for you to continue.<\/p>\n<p>You now need to put the device in to HBoot mode.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Make sure the phone is turned off completely.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Hold the Power button and the Volume Down button together and wait for the phone to boot up.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>When the Hboot menu appears choose Fastboot from the options (use Volume up and Volume down to select and Power to confirm).<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Connect the HTC Desire 816 to your PC and then navigate to the folder where you extracted the custom recovery zip file to.<\/p>\n<p>Double-click the .<strong>exe <\/strong>file to start the custom recovery installation process and follow the steps that appear on-screen.<\/p>\n<p><em>Now that the phone has had a custom recovery installed we are ready to root the phone.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Step 2 \u2013 Root the phone<\/h2>\n<p>Let the HTC Desire 816 boot up completely and make sure it is still connected to your PC.<\/p>\n<p>On your PC download the SuperSU zip file needed to root the device which you can get <a href=\"http:\/\/download.chainfire.eu\/451\/SuperSU\/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.01.zip\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 Save it to an easy to find location such as your desktop but do not extract it.<\/p>\n<p>Instead copy the downloaded SuperSU zip file to the HTC Desire 816 in a convenient location such as the Downloads folder.<\/p>\n<p>Once done, disconnect the phone from your PC.<\/p>\n<p>It is now time to put the device in to Hboot mode again.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Make sure the phone is turned off completely.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Hold the Power button and the Volume Down button together and wait for the phone to boot up.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>When the Hboot menu appears choose Recovery from the options (use Volume up and Volume down to select and Power to confirm).<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With the HTC Desire 816 in recovery mode (this is why we had to install the custom recovery first) tap <strong>Install Zip from Sdcard <\/strong>and then tap <strong>Choose zip from Sdcard <\/strong>and navigate to the SuperSU zip file you copied to the device and select it.<\/p>\n<p>Wait for the SuperSU zip file to be flashed to the device.<\/p>\n<p>When it is done tap <strong>Reboot System Now<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>When the HTC Desire 816 boots up again look in the Apps drawer and you should see SuperSU which means that the device has been successfully rooted<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[hoops name=&#8221;Rooting Guides Are No Longer Maintained&#8221;] This guide will show you how to root the HTC Desire 816 Android phone.
