What is needed to root the HTC Wildfire S?<\/h2>\n
In order to root the HTC Wildfire S you will need the following.<\/p>\n

- The HTC Wildfire S you wish to root<\/li>\n
- A PC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
Step 1 \u2013 Set up the Android SDK environment on your PC<\/h2>\n
Before you can run the rooting tools on your PC to root the HTC Wildfire S you must first set up the Android development environment correctly.<\/p>\n
You can download the SDK from here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
Step 2 \u2013 Unlock the bootloader of the HTC Wildfire S<\/h2>\n
In order to root the phone you first must unlock the bootloader of the HTC Wildfire S.<\/p>\n
To do this you need to visit the HTC website which is located here<\/a>. Follow the steps to unlock the bootloader and, when you have done that successfully please proceed to the next step.<\/p>\n
Step 3 \u2013 Download the HTC Wildfire S root files<\/h2>\n
In order to root the phone you need to download the root files which you can get here<\/a> (image file)and here<\/a> (root script).Make sure, once downloaded you save the zip files to an easy to remember location such as your desktop.<\/p>\n
Step 4 \u2013 Enable USB debugging on the HTC Wildfire S<\/h2>\n
So that your PC recognizes the HTC Wildfire S for rooting you need to enable USB debugging mode which is done as follows:<\/p>\n

- On the HTC Wildfire S go to Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Tap Developer Options<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Tap USB Debugging<\/strong> and make sure the option is checked<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n
Step 5 \u2013 Copy the root files to the HTC Wildfire S<\/h2>\n
To root the HTC Wildfire S you need to copy the root files to the phone. Simply connect the phone to your PC and transfer the root files from step 3 to the SD card in an easy to remember location such as the Downloads folder.<\/p>\n
Step 6 \u2013 Disable Fastboot on the HTC Wildfire S<\/h2>\n
On the phone go to Menu > Settings > Power > Fastboot<\/strong> and turn off the Fastboot option.<\/p>\n
Step 7 \u2013 Install the Clockworkmod recovery image<\/h2>\n
To root the phone it must be in bootloader mode. To get this mode please do the following:<\/p>\n

- Make sure the HTC Wildfire S is turned off completely.<\/li>\n
- Hold down the volume down and power buttons until the phone powers back up.<\/li>\n
- The phone will now be in bootloader mode.<\/li>\n
- It should detect the image file you downloaded in step 3 so choose Yes<\/strong> when asked.<\/li>\n
- The image file will be flashed to the device.<\/li>\n
- Reboot the device.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n
Step 8 \u2013 Root the phone<\/h2>\n
To root the phone please do the following:<\/p>\n

- Turn off the HTC Wildfire S completely.<\/li>\n
- Hold down the volume down button and the power button until the phone powers back up.<\/li>\n
- The phone will boot up in bootloader mode. Choose Recovery<\/strong> from the list.<\/li>\n
- The phone will boot in to recovery mode.<\/li>\n
- From the recovery menu choose \u2018Install zip from SD card\u2019<\/strong> and then choose \u2018Choose zip from SD card\u2019<\/strong> and browse to the root script from step 3.<\/li>\n
- Once the zip file has been flashed choose to restart the phone from the main menu of recovery.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n
When the phone reboots you will see the SuperSU icon meaning that you have successfully rooted the HTC Wildfire S.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
