Before performing any of these steps make sure you back up your Android device completely.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>What is needed to root the LG Optimus L90?<\/h2>\n<p>This Sony device can actually be rooted using the device itself.\u00a0 This means that you only need the LG Optimus L90 that you wish to root in your hand, unlike other Android phones this phone can be rooted without needing a PC.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 1 \u2013 Enable the installation of unknown sources<\/h2>\n<p>Rooting the LG Optimus L90 requires the use of the towelroot rooting software.\u00a0 This is software that you must download and run on the phone itself.\u00a0 Before you can do this however you need to enable the installation of unknown sources.<\/p>\n<p>On the phone itself go to <strong>Settings &gt; Security<\/strong> and tap the <strong>Unknown Sources<\/strong> option (make sure it is checked).<\/p>\n<h2>Step 2 \u2013 Download PurpleDrake<\/h2>\n<p>Now that you have enabled the installation of unknown sources it is time to root the phone by downloading PurpleDrake.\u00a0 You can download it from <a href=\"http:\/\/downloads.codefi.re\/thecubed\/lg_g3\/purpledrake\/PurpleDrake-Lite_R03.tar.gz\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 Save the file to an easy to find location on your PC and extract it to its own folder.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 3 \u2013 Root the phone<\/h2>\n<p>You now need to connect the device to your PC and browse to the folder you extracted in step 2 and run the <strong>purpledrake_windows.bat <\/strong>file.\u00a0 Follow the instructions to root the device.<\/p>\n<p>Once the device has been rooted you must then use the device and go to the Play Store and download and install <strong>SuperSU.\u00a0 <\/strong>Once you have done that open and run SuperSU and let it update itself if asked.<\/p>\n<p>Once this has been done you should successfully have root access on the LG Optimus L90.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[hoops name=&#8221;Rooting Guides Are No Longer Maintained&#8221;] This guide will show you how to root the LG Optimus L90.
