DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FOLLOW THESE STEPS ON ANY OTHER ANDROID OS VERSION RUNNING ON THE MOTOROLA DROID BIONIC \u2013 YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>What is needed to root the Motorola Droid Bionic?<\/h2>\n<p>To root the Motorola Droid Bionic you will need the following.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Motorola Droid Bionic you want to root in your hand.<\/li>\n<li>A PC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Step 1 \u2013 Download a virtual machine program<\/h2>\n<p>The Motorola Droid Bionic cannot be rooted in Windows. It can only be done using Linux so you have to run Linux on a virtual machine within your Windows environment.<\/p>\n<p>You can download virtual machine software from <a href=\"http:\/\/download.virtualbox.org\/virtualbox\/4.2.12\/VirtualBox-4.2.12-84980-Win.exe\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Once downloaded install the software on to your PC.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 2 \u2013 Download the Linux environment for the virtual machine software<\/h2>\n<p>You now need to download the Linux environment to be used with the virtual machine software.<\/p>\n<p>You can get it from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.knite.net\/Bionic\/Root_Bionic_JB_20130501-4.ova\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 3 \u2013 Open up the Linux environment on the virtual machine software.<\/h2>\n<p>Run the virtual machine software from step 1.<\/p>\n<p>Click <strong>File &gt; Import Appliance <\/strong>and browse to the .ova file you downloaded in step 2.<\/p>\n<p>Click the green <strong>Start <\/strong>button inside the virtual machine software to load up the Linux working environment.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 4 \u2013 Root the Motorola Droid Bionic<\/h2>\n<p>When the Linux environment boots up follow the steps exactly as listed to perform the rooting process, connecting the device to your computer when prompted.<\/p>\n<p>Once completed you will see the SuperSU application which means you have rooted the device successfully.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[hoops name=&#8221;Rooting Guides Are No Longer Maintained&#8221;] This guide will show you how to root the Motorola Droid Bionic Android phone.
