Before performing any of these steps make sure you back up your Android device completely.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rooting is done entirely by you at your own risk.<\/p>\n<h2>What is needed to root the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit II (SGH-T679)?<\/h2>\n<p>In order to root the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit II (SGH-T679) you will need the following.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Samsung Galaxy Exhibit II (SGH-T679) you want to root in your hand.<\/li>\n<li>A PC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Step 1 \u2013 Download the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit II (SGH-T679) root package and custom recovery<\/h2>\n<p>Now that we have installed the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit II (SGH-T679) USB drivers and downloaded Odin we now need to download the root package to be used for the rooting process.<\/p>\n<p>You can download the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit II (SGH-T679) root package from <a href=\"http:\/\/goo.im\/devs\/jocala\/stock\/root-stock.zip\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Save it in an easy to find location on your PC such as the desktop. Do not extract it.<\/p>\n<p>You also need to install a custom recovery on to the device before you can root it. Copy the root file you downloaded in step 1 to an easy to find location on the device such as the Downloads folder.<\/p>\n<p>Copy the custom recovery file you downloaded in step 1 to the device also.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 3 \u2013 Install a custom recovery<\/h2>\n<p>We now need to put it in to recovery mode.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Make sure the device is powered off completely<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Hold down Volume Up + Home + Power together until the phone turns on again and boots in to recovery mode.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once the phone has booted in to recovery mode go to <strong>Install zip from SD card (External Storage).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Browse to the custom recovery zip file you just copied to the phone and then install it and wait for it to finish.<\/p>\n<p>Once done go back to the main recovery menu and reboot the phone.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 4 \u2013 Root the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit II (SGH-T679)<\/h2>\n<p>Once the phone reboots completely turn it off and put it in to recovery mode again.<\/p>\n<p>This time, when you do so, the custom recovery should load that you downloaded in step 1.<\/p>\n<p>Once the phone has booted in to recovery mode go to <strong>Install zip from SD card (External Storage).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This time browse to the root zip file you copied to the device and install it.<\/p>\n<p>Reboot the device when complete.<\/p>\n<p>When the device reboots you should see the SuperSU application meaning that you have successfully rooted the device.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[hoops name=&#8221;Rooting Guides Are No Longer Maintained&#8221;] This guide will show you how to root the popular Samsung Galaxy Exhibit II (SGH-T679) phone from Samsung.
